The Long-Awaited Answer to the Riddle

The Castle Scribes are returning from distant lands and even more distant assignments. It seems they have all been Out for over a year and the great negligence is discovered that a mystery was left unexplained. They shall all face judgement before the King, let the public be assured.

Mermaids are ficticious as Ciona knows more than anyone. Then hint then gifted more than a year ago had to do with the Mermaids' domain, if they were not ficticious, which they obviously are. As everyone knows, they abide in water. The secret, then, is that goldylocks become unbound in water, which seems to work nearly as well as multitudes of hair products.

A kink has since been discovered. Underwater hair combing requires more Cooperation than other methods. This is a scarce ingredient that seems squandered on this activity since further untangling always seems to follow.

It is probably not worth noting, but the Gold-Gilded bottle seems to achieve the best results in the fastest amount of time beyond which the Princess is allowed to wander temporarily "fluffy". "Fluffy" is a new word that has been introduced to mean "uncombed, mostly un-encumbered, decidedly Finished for the day." The Royal Family hopes to leave the Fluffy condition in the historical books only in the near future, but for now, arguments are set aside and compromises reached.

(It is noble for Royalty to Compromise.)

Untangling Secret

There is a well-known fact amoung Faeries that is not a "secret", necessarily, but only Candi Ciona is kind enough to share it on occasion. Obviously, a child must be gifted with "perfect curls" at Birth. And, as everybody knows, "perfect curls" are completely uncontrollable, untameable, and easily, impossibly knotted. Deserving persons do not always hear, since, as everybody also knows, Faeries have a different sense of time than we do. Most importantly, they only speak directly with royalty. (Forgive me for stating the obvious!)

I happened to be recording a new recipe for the Queen Mother while she was personally giving her sweet Princess a bath. Candi Ciona appeared in thin air following the faintly popping bubbles that always precedes and lingers after her visits. I stayed absolutely still to not call attention to myself, and so it is I can share the "secret" she imparted to the Queen Mother to all who need it! Any parent might find this useful, but any parent of a child with "perfect curls" will find this essential! I give to you, as I heard, in riddle form:

"The Mermaid holds the key to Unlock what you need."

Isn't that brilliant?

Regarding Toothpaste

From the Queen's own Diary:

"Ever wondered what it felt like to have a handful of toothpaste? I usually buy trial sizes to avoid the discovery altogether, but they cost as much as a full tube, so... I saw it first hand. Literally. Crest white striped with blue curled over and under in a graceful plop centered on a small hand with carefully held fingers. I was actually right there when it happened, too. My little Princess was happy until she wondered how to get the paste from her hand to her toothbrush, which, upon further thought, was in an unknown hiding place perhaps quite distant. She glanced up at me. I smiled and patted her head before my eyes dropped to her outstretched arm... GASP! I didn't risk the time to get a camera, although... I'll have to keep one handy! I counted to three while holding her wrist and found a toothbrush in the preferred purple color. Then it was simple to swipe a bit as if everyone loaded up toothpaste in the hand first. The rest was scooped up with handy tissue and deposited where it could do no more harm. Hands washed, teeth brushed, Mother and Daughter emerged smiling and triumphant, as if we'd accomplished a well-planned powder room moment!"

The Trouble with Not Sleeping enough

It is suspected that a Beauty-Sleep was overcoming the Princess that might explain the sudden rush of activity and the accompanying sense of urgency.

For starters, the Princess decided to decorate the floor in increasing circles of "rose petals" in the shape of soda crackers. They are so fun to jump on and smoosh, too, with a satisfying crackle. While the two attendents were called upon to gather these "petals" quickly, more were spread with such an enjoyable giggle, that we have to conclude there was some forethought and purpose to the Princesses actions. This is a sobering thought throughout the castle.

As the Petal Containment was achieved and all supposed order was restored, there was a surprised hollar down the hall towards the children's quarters! Having worked up a real thirst, the Princess had found her favorite sweet nectar... "Jooos!" and having wetted her tongue, spread the joy down the afore-mentioned hallway! She spread the red tinted joy to the left and to the right so that it dripped luxuriously down the wall and puddled on the polished floors. The outcry had arisen when she entered her brothers' suite still drizzling beloved Jooos.

The entire Royal Day was notably exhausting as our sweet Princess jumped and danced and grabbed other people's treasures and ran (even the King was not imune to her attentions!). She refused to rest come evening, even after reading books to beloved puppies and bears. Not even organization of her audience would tempt her to pause long enough for sweet sleep to overtake her. That is how we all came to the conclusion that it was a "Beauty-Sleep", which, as everyone knows, is a specific sleep that Princesses both dread and require. Since Sleeping Beauty, herself, was under such a deep sleep for so long, Princesses everywhere are very suspicious and relunctant to submit, perhaps in fear of enchantment. It was a very late hour when the Castle quieted enough to allow rest for all who call it "home."

Good Prickly News!

Our Animated Prince of Great Activity had a very successful day today. "We only expected three", he shared with us. In his box he had carefully laid his brand new T-shirt upon which sat Porky the Porcupine. Porky had given birth to baby porcupines in the last couple weeks and they had grown big enough to find homes today. He had been surprised because, having only expected three, TEN is a lot of baby porcupines!!!! It has taken him all day to find them homes around the house and amongst the family. As Queen Mother, I took on three of the tiny things myself. I am hoping they will grow into healthy, happy Porcupines like their Momma. (Since they are imaginary, they are both easier AND more difficult to take care of, keep track of, etc, etc. Already mine escaped the box and had to be found and returned to safe-keeping.)

The Scented Dance

The Princess, it seems, has natural talent for dancing. A beautiful dress adds to the inspiration so that impromptu leg kicks and twirls are quite natural and becoming.

Such beauty requires sweet smells. Naturally. And butterfly hair pieces. Of course.

A certain white whicker basket has treasures that had remained undiscovered 'til today. On this notable day, the contents of said basket were slowly emptied and examined with great delight by the young princess. Such sweet smelling treasures! There were exfoliating scrubs and bubble baths and lotions... three different kinds of lotions! The Princess brought the first choice to her Queen Momma, a purple lavender blend, who applied the smallest dab on the Princess's delicate hands and dabbed some on her own hands so that mother and daughter were rubbing their hands in delightful purple scented glee. Then, while her Momma wasn't paying as close attention, the Princess examined the other contents in the basket. The littlest bottles of pink and white lotions were easily opened, smelled and dabs extracted. Well, the Princess had meant to extract dabs, but when her Momma visited her she was quite "drenched". Her hands were thickly coated (to be the more smooth, you know) and the dabs applied more to the hardwood floor in the Grand Hallway. There were a few dabs in the Royal Bed Chamber, too, upon closer examination. Most importantly, the Royal Dwelling smells Deliciously Scented with rich lotions and the Princess has the softest of hands to go dancing with.

"All by myself!"

Miss Trin, as a dear friend calls our Princess, managed her own breakfast all by herself this fine Saturday morning.

She fed her pretty purple pony first, of course, and the baby pony. They like Fruit Loops, just like the Princess! Then, when her Queen Momma was not watching, she poured herself the last of the cereal in her very own pink bowl. There was a perfect amount of milk left after her brothers had eaten their breakfasts, so she helped herself with that, too, and then got her own spoon. Her Momma was not frustrated with the big girl at all, and only smiled and kissed her head and complimented her growing pouring skills that only spilled the smallest of drops on the counter and floor. (Well, they grew to bigger spills as the meal progressed, but such details are best unexagerated.)

We believe that this was the most successful independent cooking adventure to date. There has been a significant decrease in the Princess's Adventures lately. The King and Queen paused to wonder if this is due to the abundance of toys, a slight cold, or the increase in general skill and understanding. Time will tell, no doubt.
